In our previous theory, we proved that Occult actively came into existence around 10,000 years ago. This drives us to research in depth about various ancient and important occult symbols and meanings. Whether it be Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, or Romans, Occult has always been an integral part of their culture. They always gave us a hint or sign through various symbols. Today we’re going to decode the most important symbols and their meanings.
Occult has always been an integral part in shaping the dynasties and kingdoms. The wizards and witches have always played a role of kingmakers and have also been the reason for the fallen kingdoms. Hence, when it comes to decoding symbols, it is very crucial to make sure you are quite capable of understanding them. So, here we’re going to ease the process of understanding various important occult symbols and meanings.
Some Foundational Occult Symbols and Meanings—The Ankh

Ancient Egyptians contributed significantly to the lexicon of occult symbolism. One of the famous sacred symbols, Ankh, describes the ancient religions. This symbol has a cross with a loop on its top. The symbol has the meaning of a powerful source and eternal life. This symbol is also modernly associated with kemetism, neo-paganism, and subcultures like Goth. The symbol of Ankh is inclined positively in Egyptian beliefs and mythology. It is generally associated with god or godly men.
The first documented appearance of Ankh was around 3000 BCE. That time it was more associated with sun life and fertility. The Egyptian gods and pharaohs are often depicted with Ankh holding it, signifying its importance. Thus it is the most basic but crucial when it comes to occult symbols and their meanings.
The Eye of Horus is another symbol that Egyptians worshipped. The Eye of Horous is named after the god Horous, who symbolizes protection. It is also referred to as the Wedjat eye, which symbolizes protection and power, well-being, and healing. It encompasses both physical and spiritual dimensions.
The Pentacle

Geometry has always played a crucial part in the foundation of occult. The universe is aligned and interconnected; nothing else other than geometry can prove it. The pendulum symbolizes the balance and interconnection of forces in the universe. The pentacle is a 5-pointed star enclosed in a circle. Though it might be trending in modern occultism, its origins lay in ancient Mesopotamia. The Pentacle was a symbol of humans developing their interest in Geometrical concepts. Even for the pythagoreans the pentagram representated a source for health, wisdom and knowledge.
It was the time when the Sacred geometry which is a branch of occult in itself began accessible to commoners. This was the time when sacred geometry was used to uncover and integrate the spiritual existence. And, it all began with The Pentacle. Even today the Pentacle has a huge importance in various occult rituals. The Pentacle is another important bit in covering occult symbols and meanings as it was never ignored since ancient times.
Major Symbols and Interpretations
Whether it be Ankh, Eye of Horus, or the Pentacle, all of them have one thing in common, i.e., they all symbolize good and godly energy. If the pentacle or pentagram is inverted, it defines Satanism. If you turn Ankh upside down, it transgresses all the energy towards the earth, which points towards hell. Thus, while understanding the major symbols, make sure you know how they are displayed or kept. Because some symbols are quite negative and might disturb your mental peace if tattooed or kept at home. Make sure to consult a wizard before using any symbol that might affect your life.
The Pentagram

The pentagram is the most basic version of all the symbols in Mesopotamian occult. Throughout the world, various other occultic symbols are derived from the simple pentagram. The pentagram basically represents all the elements of nature. The 5 points in a normal star represent Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Spirit. When enclosed, it becomes pentalce. It is also used in other forms of contacting spirits and allowing them to enter our dimension.
As I previously described about the positions, the inverted pentagram with two points facing upward is linked to the black magic and devil worship. You can notice it in the sigil of Baphomet, which is the official symbol of the Church of Satan. The upside-down inversion of the pentagram signifies the importance of matter over spirit. It means choosing materialistic wealth (non-eternal) over the spirit (which is eternal). The pentagram can also be seen in the Solomon’s seal in Islam and other sigils of different religions, irrespective of their timelines. Thus, the pentagram has a crucial role in understanding differentoccult symbols and their meanings.
The Hexagram

If you think that Hexagram will be similar to the Pentagram, then congratulations; you’re still a rookie. Because the addition of 1 dot where two more lines intersect interprets the inclusion of one extra dimension other than those mentioned above. While studying occult symbols and meanings, I came across some interesting theory. The theory is out of the six dots in the hexagram, there are two dots that represent earth and air, and two others represent fire and water.
Then what do the remaining two represent? Some people describe it as spirit and the 4th dimension. But according to the research or Ocult Insider, the two dots signify good and bad karma, which is further simplified as the light and darkness. That’s why it is often used in astrology.
If you want to witness the perfect use of hexagram, then look at Shree Yantra in Hinduism. It is often used as an auspicious symbol that helps to create balance around the native who is performing rituals. It is also symbolized with wealth, health, and prosperity. Thus, hexagram is another symbol that helps to decode various occult symbols and their meanings.
The Ouroboros

Often depicted as a serpent or dragon devouring its own tail, Ouroboros is a symbol of infinity, unity, and the cyclic nature of death and rebirth. The roots of Ouroboros are embodied in Greece and Egypt. It displays an eternal cyclic renewal of life. The Swiss psychiatrist Karl Jung praised Ouroboros as a sign and an ideal archetype that displays the pre-ego state and then unification of the opposite aspects with psyche. Various mythologies have different names for the same creature.
Norse mythology has a legend of Jormungadar, a serpent that encircles the entire earth and then eventually eats its own tail. In Hinduism, Shesh Naag is said to be the protector of earth in some scriptures, holding earth at points.
Thus, different mythologies have depicted different names that address a similar creature. Thus, it becomes more evident that the universe vibration is one and there is no existence of religions among the supreme universal powers. Thus, the Ourobors is among the crucial occult symbols and meanings.
The Eye of Providence—a common yet important Occult Symbols

The Eye of Providence is being too common because of social media. Everybody knows an eye enclosed within a triangle. It is also known as an all-seeing eye. The meaning of all seeing eyes has evolved timely. It is important to note that all seeing eyes can also be altered with the motive of satanic worship. At some point there seems to be a resemblance between the concepts of Eye of Horus and Eye of Providence.
But when we dug deep, there was more to it. The eye of Horus cannot be altered. The all-seeing eye is also the symbol of freemasonry. According to the masonic symbolism, it says that God is seeing all the inner and outer activities of humans. It is believed that the origins of the Eye of Providence come from Greek occult. But the appearance of it is also found in lchemy, astrology, Kabbalah, Rosicrucianism at later stages.
Baphomet: Satanic Occult Symbols

The following figure can be noticed in various occult and esoteric traditions worldwide. I cannot completely be in favor of using this sign due to its evil inclination. In the early 14th century, during the trials of the Knights Templar, it is said that the idols of Baphomet were worshipped. The historical figure of Baphomet remains enigmatic. But, modern scholars and occultists accepted the image of Baphomet made by Eliphas Levi that displayed a winged, androgynous figure with the head of a goat. In the church of Satan, the sigil of Baphomet represents the official insignia towards the earthly principles and represents carnality.
At various occasions throughout the world, the sigil of Baphomet is used in disguise to promote Satanism and other evil practices. The following sign should be avoided in homes and at work places if you don’t tend to attract negative spirits.
